It's out. Released into the wild. Many of you who have Auto-Updates on will have no doubt already seen it or installed it.
If you have been neglecting your Windows Updates for awhile, this is a great oppurtunity to get every fix released since service pack 2 was realeased about 3 years ago.
Service Pack 3 doesnt add anything to the OS in the same scale as Service Pack 2 did. In fact you will notice next to no change in your OS when you install it.
So, please run out right away and get your service pack fix. :)

Hi Bakes - thanks for putting this up!
Quick question: I'm using Vista Premium - are there updates or Service Packs out for it yet? I'd hate to mess with it - everything seems to run just fine. Makes me wonder why so many have negative comments about Vista. I kinda like it.

Service Pack 1 for Vista is out. The bad rap for Vista comes from the fact Microsoft tried to push too much on users that they didnt need, created an incredibly bloated OS, and didnt work closely enough with 3rd party hardware vendors to sqauare away comaptibility. Not to mention the hardware requirements it takes. I am running Vista...have been for a year, and I am just now at a point with it that I am at the efficiency level I was with XP.
SP3 was released with the same bug that caused my laptop to bluescreen post install. Just keep your install cd handy so you can boot to recovery console and copy a couple files from the sp3 install directory to the windows\system32 directory.
